Please, since the photo is not too much help, are the leaves in the photo belonging to the same plant? And did you see any tendrils? I have some ideas but do not want to guess without a bit more information. (You totally need to visit Atlanta again!!! And soon!)

Yes. The leaves belong to the same plant.
Don't remember about the tendrils.
Many climbers were growing together, and you could hardly observe more of this plant.
