Today we're launching initial support of Google Inbox to the InboxSDK.

Among other features, we have implemented functionality for manipulating the compose window and for adding a sidebar to an opened thread. We're hard at work at implementing more of our Gmail functionality into Inbox. Our documentation has been updated to explain the new Inbox support and to show what functionality works in Inbox so far. You can enable Inbox support by changing the version parameter in the InboxSDK load call to 2:

    InboxSDK.load(2, 'your appid').then(...)

We'd love it if you tried it out and let us know what you think! We'll be incrementally implementing more of the missing APIs; let us know which are the most important to you.

I am very excited by this and will start playing with it this week. I just looked at the updated documentation. The one feature I need to make my 2 Chrome extensions work with Inbox are the:

getCurrentDraftID()

and/or

getDraftID()

methods.

Basically, I need some way of getting an ID for the Message or the Draft, so that I can then use that with the Gmail API. Inbox is tricky because the browser URL doesn't change as the user composes a message, like it does in Gmail. In Gmail, I can rely on the Message ID being in the URL if all else fails.

I hope more events are implemented next. I need the compose events and the thread row handler. Thanks for the update!

We just need one compose view event to be implemented for us to enable Inbox support on top of gmail for our product - recipientsChanged. So far everything else looks good!

I see that there are new apis that have inbox support now based on the api page. Is there a way for me to be notified if an api has been ported to inbox? Like a changelog or something similar. That would be convenient instead of checking the api page every now and then. As of now we are interested in the following apis:

List
- registerThreadRowViewHandler, getThreadID

Router
- handleListRoute

Thanks for the hard work and we are looking forward to building apps over it.
