Which SSD to buy

Hi All,

I have a MacBook Pro from 2011. I want to upgrade the hard drive to an SSD.

I am thinking of 128 GB (Maybe 256).

There are a ton of models http://www.flipkart.com/search?q=ssd&as=off&as-show=on&otracker=start

Can you please advise any particular model based on your experience?

I bought this one “Samsung 250GB 2.5" 840 EVO SATAIII SSD” but I paid only 9500 for it when I purchased it on 17 Jun 2014

I’ve bought it for me and recommended to a couple friends. It’s doing great after two years and I’m very happy with the performance. My laptop got a new life after installing this drive in my laptop which was a 2009 model.

Hi friends 

I also have an imac 2013 model wanted to use a ssd instead of a 1tb hard drive but when i went to apple service centre the price quoted was prohibitive so is there anyone who can install 512gb ssd in my imac or a fusion drive 

I am out of warranty and out of apple care as i am planning to do a fresh install of el capitan anyways so i think better to upgrade hardware and software both

@Santosh if trim is enabled, the ssd lasts longer. it has something to do with read write cycles.
