Hello!

A few days ago I received my Standalone VT132 with USB port. The construction went smoothly, I turned it on, got the "Wait" and then "Error" messages (as expected) but when I try to use the keyboard... nothing happens.

I tried 3 different keyboards (1 wired, 2 wireless), same thing. I tried with a power supply of 5V regulated (and jumper on J6) and also 9V (and no jumper on J6); no difference. I checked that the USB port is providing 5V, so definitely there is power there.

What else should I test? I followed the couple of pins where you can see the traces (one on each side of the board), and they look fine.

Thanks,

Of course, right after I wrote that email I found the schematics of the Stand Alone VT132, and checking all the pins of the USB board, there is no connection between Keyboard pin 4 and ESP32 pin 9 (USB_RX).

Now I need to find out why. :-(

... and solved it.
There was connection between ESP32 pin 9 and one of the sides of R2 (not populated, because it is only used for PS/2), so jumped from there to pin 4 of Keyboard and now the keyboard is working. :-)

Just wanted to mention it, in case somebody has the same problem in the future.

Sounds like you have a different issue, but I've found with mine some keyboards work fine (Logitech with a wireless dongle), some have a 0.5 second lag, and others don't work at all (I have a Microsoft keyboard that works fine on every other computer but not with the VT132), so trying different keyboards can help too.
