Thank you to the (record!) 308 birders and friends who contributed their bird sightings and data for the Cook County portion of the Illinois Spring Bird Count on May 10th this year.
201 species (not including single hybrids 'Lawrence's' and 'Brewster's' Warblers) were recorded on this years count, the same as last years.
The species results are now available on the Chicago Bird Alliance website here:
The list of names of all the participants/contributors for 2025 records follows the species chart (scroll down).
Please feel free to share with other participants that birded with you, that aren't on IBET.
Here is a link where you can see the species totals for Cook County for 2022, 2023 and 2024 also. Also here are links to the state reports for 2022-2024, put together by the Illinois Natural History Survey (many thanks to Tara Beverorth, and Michael Patrick Ward of INHS!).
Again, thank you to everyone who helped contribute to the species and data for the 2025 Spring Bird Count in Cook County! Many have helped for years, and we truly appreciate all who have helped - long time contributors and new ones also!
Good birding this summer!
Sincerely,
Alan
