No sightings - question on Route 83 Rookery

There was a Blue Heron Rookery off of Route 83 and Centennial Bike Trail.
In years passed you would see Blue Heron, Great White Egrets and Cormorants. 
They normally show up around the middle of March. 

I just road my bike by there today and there was nothing. It even appeared a lot of the nests were gone. Wonder if the storms destroyed them?  This would normally be a hub of activity with tree branches being carried to the nest etc. 

There was an Osprey in one the nest. He was calling out. 

Would anyone know what could have happened. Maybe I am too early but I don’t think so.

I too have this question … same exact rookery I’ve been observing for years now casually on spring bike rides along the Centennial trail. 

 We were on the trail Friday March 7,  and all of the great blue heron nests were abandoned. At the top of one of the rookery trees was a somewhat larger nest inhabited by two Osprey. We watched one arrive with a fish.  Would Osprey drive the herons away? I did read one article where they were found to peacefully coexist.

Unfortunately I am out of town for the next few weeks and will not be able to observe.
