Fellow Ibeters,

Robert Hughes (who else?) discovered a record early fall Purple Sandpiper at the end of Montrose Point's Fishook Pier this morning.  It remains past noon (12:45 p.m. reported by Lin Johnston) at the end of the Pier just past the red small tower along the sidewalk and crevices of the pier.  It's very tame please take care not to flush the Purple Sandpiper.

Passerine migrants, particularly warblers, again were "gangbusters" at the Sanctuary once again today like yesterday!

Good Birding to All!

btw a long overdue Cook Co. lifer for me--and others....

The purple sandpiper is still at the end of the pier by the red tower at 3:20 pm. It is extremely close and oblivious to birders. There is also an American golden-plover in the protected beach seen from the same pier. A twofer!
