We have good news and bad news for participants in IHE Radiology. The bad news is that Lynn Felhofer, after many years of illustrious service to the domain, is stepping back from this part of her work. Those of you who have had the pleasure to work with Lynn know that she leaves big shoes to fill in the expertise and dedication she has devoted to helping ensure the quality of IHE's specifications and their linkage to IHE Connectathon testing.

The good news is that we are fortunate enough to have two very capable domain experts, probably familiar to many of you already, to step into Lynn's roles:
  • Jason Nagels will take the lead on supporting the IHE Radiology Technical Committee activities. This includes participating with RAD Tech in their face-to-face meetings, supporting the committee in new profile development and publication, providing formal public comment on new work, helping to manage the RAD CP process, assisting you and the committee in the annual publication and republication of RAD TF documents, and updating GMM with new profile/actor/option/transaction/grouping details.
  • Mohannad Hussain is now responsible for RAD domain Connnectathon test development - new tests and maintenance of existing tests.  He will coordinate with the Kereval and Catalyst teams on tool updates and Connectathon needs. He will provide Connectathon support:  prior to Connectathons during the registration and preparatory phases  to recruit/support vendors and then onsite during Connectathon week to help RAD monitors and vendors have a successful testing experience.

Please join me in welcoming Jason and Mohannad in these new roles. Lynn has worked with them to help ensure a smoot transition, but I'm sure they will welcome your guidance and support as they undertake their first cycle supporting the domain's specification development and testing activities.

Best,
Chris Carr

Dear Lynn,

You have been warning of us of this day for a while, it is still a big shock to think that you will be not at future IHE Connectathons! We will miss your smiling face, and all the vast knowledge base and experience you bring to the Connectathons.

On behalf of the IHE Canada Community, I thank you for all your dedication, perseverance and hard work on IHE technical specifications and maintenance to insure and progress interoperability. I sincerely, state we would be not developing high quality specifications without your active participation. I hope you will remain engaged with us in your next chapter.

Sincere gratitude, David.

To my good friend, Lynn,

Lynn, your contributions to IHE, DICOM, and radiology are immeasurable.   You always quietly, behind the scenes, made sure that all of the CPs were updated, the text was correct (often including grammar, lol), that issues were addressed... and tested.

And, while no-nonsense, you have always been a joy to work with.

It is fascinating to watch the first wave of DICOM/IHE creators begin to step back.  Many of us started together.  We grew up together.   Our friendships transcend DICOM and IHE. I am hoping and praying that the next wave of authors/developers is just as industrious and dedicated, but am confident they will be.  Hope the collegial vibe will always remain.

Thank you, Lynn. I will always have the utmost respect for you.

That said, it looks like time for a roadtrip to Madison.  :)
Take care, everyone,
Teri

For as long as I’ve been involved with IHE, and possibly before my involvement,  Lynn has been a presence, essential to multiple aspects of IHE’s operation and a voice to keep it on track to provide the development and testing of the profiles as a public service.  She will be missed, but she has assisted in building a path to the future of healthcare standards.

Lynn- best of luck in your next steps and endeavors!

David

Symmetrically to the good news and bad news, I find myself both enthused and saddened.  VERY happy to see Jason and Mohannad being directly engaged into the Radiology Domain. Having worked with both in other circles, its clear they are a great fit with the IHE Rad Community. BUT I really can’t imagine not seeing/hearing Lynn in all the meetings and all the places she contributes so much to the work, the product, and the culture of IHE Radiology. Lynn, you’re woven into the fabric.  Hoping for one more round of dinner, drinks, and conversation at the November meeting. 😊

Cheers,

  Kevin

Dear Lynn,

I should say deeply thank you for your all of kindness to a funny Japanese guy who use terrible English.

You’ve supported me in many of my trouble scenes in NA/EU Connnectathon and in IHE RAD Meeting.

You’ve also encouraged me every time that my English is getting better when we are chatting in lunch/dinner time.

As everyone mentioned, I can’t image a meeting in Library of RSNA HQ without you.

Hope to see you again somewhere.

Sincerely Yours,

Salt

PS. Your Wisconsin’s gift is working well on our frige in my house. Thank you!

Hello all,

The new "guy" here - while Jason and I look forward to working with each of you. I wanted to take a moment to recognize Lynn and mark this occasion.

As someone that has participated in IHE connectathons over the years in multiple capacities (vendor, monitor, etc.). I know just how great Lynn was at her role - she set the gold standard as TPMs of other IHE domains have told me.

I could go on and on, but I'll keep it brief and respect everyone's time. I think our community will be forever indebted to Lynn and that she's leaving a lasting mark on the domain.

Thank you, Lynn, for everything!

Hi Lynn,

Advantage of being on holiday means that all things about your impact on IHE Radiology are already mentioned so no need to repeat those.

But still to say thank you for all your support to the team and me during the time as co-chair.
You did push our maintenance forward in times that we didn’t give it enough attention due to high effort on the new profiles.

We are cleaning up the set of TIs to get them either in Final Text or Deprecated/Retired to get a clear list of profiles for the products.

Enjoy your camping trips with your caravan.

See you in November during our special dinner.

Regards,

Wim
