Hello,

I've created a hyperlink in Excel to load data.  I have the IGV application open and port 60151 checked.  However, the link doesn't work! I get a message "Can't locate internet server or proxy server." in Excel when I click on the link. I even tried several examples provided in the website such as: http://localhost:60151/goto?locus=egfr
but I still get the same error message when the link is launched from Excel.

Please help!

Thanks,

Lena

Does this link work outside of excel (copy / paste to a browser window or just click it)?

http://localhost:60151/goto?locus=egfr

Yes, it works perfectly when I paste it to the browser window; just not in Excel or Word. :(

I did a little googling, and apparently this is a common problem with Microsoft office software.   I tried it myself, and the command actually worked (it went to EGFR),  but I still got the popup window.  Sorry,  I don't know a lot about office software,  if you find a solution please post it here.
