There are no global standard times
UTC is always off
Here in Canada we have daylight savings but no more in 2027

Pacific coast time pst will go out of sync in 2027

This provice alone has 2 time zones

UTC does not keep up

DDHT Qt session is Monday April 13th thirteen at 10 am pacific standard time  of California and Vancouver

Thanks Amali

I might disagree, UTC is a constant, as other regions vary their local settings.

I repeat that, on April 13 neither California nor Vancouver will be observing Pacific Sandard Time, they will be on Pacific Daylight Time.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Time_Zone

If one is promoting an event to a global audience, it is important to specify UTC, or the difference therefrom, so people may calculate their local time.

One of the advantages of using the Zoom registration, as I suggested, is that it will convert an event's time into a user's local time.

Nicholas Fiumarelli with IGF will start the chat with an intro to QT
I have then asked friend of DDHT Jenny Sicat Crabbe (US Phillipines former Wall St banker) who is involved with UN Status of Women to give us her thoughts...Asia and Pacific plus

I will then follow as will our DDHT members with a few comments. We then open the floor....

We chat as long as we have inputs... Last time we did one like this it was 2hours long... our speakers can leave much sooner for their schedules

We want to explore the social economic  aspects and how we can prepare marginalized groups. Also want to encourage girls as we are not using the brain power of 50 percent of the population. When I did compsci at Imperial College UK 30 years ago... girls were only 5 percent in our MSC class. Not much has changed in reality.  One of our profs was a lady and an innovative in AI....!!! What we would have lost .

We need all to participate in IT. Interest is created when very young, how can we encourage that ?

So a social policy approach to QT

Bring all suggestions  for a family style chat

Very good! 10:00 PDT = 17:00 UTC

Is it possible you can name the speakers, and moderator, if any? Also specify the planned duration?

Thanks

Joly
