Hello,

I'm currently conducting research with wolf spiders and I'm having some trouble having idtracker properly track the spiders in the videos. It's likely caused by the set-up not being the most efficient since the lighting is not consistent and there is a hand and paintbrush also constantly moving. I'm unable to redo these trials so is it possible to have idtracker come up with relatively accurate tracking with these videos? I'll attach a few examples of what I've been dealing with.

I have tweaked with the segmentation app to try and mitigate the possible errors like adding an upper limit to blob area thresholds so it doesn't track the hand or brush that often as well as increasing the number of tracked animals so it could separately track the hand/brush and the spider. Although, that hasn't been very successful. I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do so any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,

I checked your videos. They are impossible to track with idtracker.ai when the hand is over the arena. The only thing you can do is to select the tracking intervals so that you ignore the frames when the hand is there. That's the best you can do.
