Dear all,

I have created a new client (Initial client setup process). In the new client, I can't prepare/complete my sales order due to error message: Order 50002: Grand Total=1500 - Period Closed.
I have double checked that period January 2016 is open across all base document types. I found the following warning/error messages in my log:

The error messages are:

16:48:06.141-----------> MPeriod.isOpen: Could not find DocBaseType for C_Order [33]
16:48:09.621-----------> MPeriod.isOpen: No Period for 2016-01-10 00:00:00.0 (SOO) [48]
16:48:09.623-----------> MWFActivity.run: MWFNode[184-(DocAuto),Action=DocumentAction=--] [48]
java.lang.Exception: @PeriodClosed@        at org.compiere.wf.MWFActivity.performWork(MWFActivity.java:1047)

I checked table C_PERIODCONTROL and I can confirm that Base document type "SOO" is open for January 2016.

Does anyone have an idea?

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael,

please make sure that in your "Accounting Schema" the field "Automatic
Peiod Control" is deselected.

Thanks Dirk.
Automatic period control was already deselected. Any other ideas as to what the issue could be?

One more piece of information, I forgot to share:
I don't face this issue in the demo default client GardenWorld but only in my newly created client.

Michael

Can you check if the period 2016 was created??

Maybe the configuration for the C_Order document type you are using is different from that of the demo.idempiere instance ? So maybe you want to compare the two side by side.

I say this because you are being presented with the error :  "No DocBaseType for C_Order" and defining Document Base Type is a configuration of a document.

you might have incorrect date on your machine or on server, after that check history days also on accounting schema!

Thanks Alejandro,
everything defined as it should be: Calendar, Year 2016, Period and Period Control for all Document base types.

Thanks FJVR. That was also what I found suspicious and I verified that the document type and base document type configuration is the same.

Thanks Kashif. System date/time on my windows machine is correct. History days are not specified because Automatic Period control is turned off.

Do you manage multiple calendars?

Is the organization from the order associated to a different calendar?

Regards,

Carlos Ruiz

If you go to the source code via i.e. Eclipse and put a break at MPeriod to see why it complains those two errors on DocBaseType and No Open Period. I suspect it is the answer given by Carlos about your calendar.

Thanks Carlos, I have double checked that the organization in the sales order corresponds to the organization in the calendar.

Hi Carlos,
in furtherance to my reply below, I forgot to mention that for some reason in period control, the system automatically populates the organization with "*" even though calendar and periods are defined at organization level (not *).

Michael

Michael, I mean, go to window organization, tab organization info and check if the calendar field is filled there.

I'm trying to complete a PO and am getting the same error as OP only I have read this thread and have selected my calendar in the Organization window. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could try next?

I also noticed that GardenWorld doesn't have this calendar field set to anything and yet you can complete documents.

Hi Dmitry

Is the period open for the date of the document? Check in Calendar Year and Period Windows.

Regards.

Hi Victor & yuanaw,

Yes, my document date is 27/12/2018 and the periods are open as per screenshot.

The only thing that I didn't do from this thread is what I'm kind of dreading i.e. setting up eclipse and then debugging. I am starting to think this is the only way forward as I'm totally out of ideas.

Hi ,

Please check the accounting schema if the automatic period control is true.

Thanks Gaurav, that was the problem. Now the document closes.

https://www.chuckboecking.com/idempiere-period-closed-error-resolve-period-closed/

Bilal, please note, GardenWorld doesn't have a calendar selected in the Organization Info window yet documents close just fine. In my case I tried selecting my calendar, but that didn't solve the issue.

Thanks for the help guys!
