Hi guys,

this is my first post here. Hope you can help.

I have just downloaded and installed the WAMP package (WAMPserver 3.0.6; Apache 2.4.23; PHP 5.6.25/7.0.10; MySQL 5.7.14; PHP myadmin 4.6.4).

Then I have downloaded the ICA-Atom files and created a directory here C:\wamp64\www\ICA.

I am successfully in the 'Database configuration' page (localhost/ICA/index.php/;sfInstallPlugin/configureDatabase). I have created a database in phpMyadmin and called it 'quibit' with no data in it.

When I click on 'Save and Continue', on the 'Database configuration' page this is the message I am shown:

500 internal Server Error | Prope Exception

Unable to execute INSERT statement. [wrapped:SQLSTATE[HY000]:General error: 1366 Incorrect string value: '\xE5\x8C\xBF\xE5\x90\x8D' for column 'name' at row 1]

And then it gives 32 stack traces

Q1: is it just one problem going on or do I have 2 issues (The 500 internal server one and the 'Unable to execute INSERT' one?)

Q2: what can I do?

Is it of any help flagging that the 'Apache 24' folder is not in the 'wamp64' folder but loose in 'localdisc(C:)'?

Many thanks in advance for your help

Lucia

Hi there,

First, ICA-AtoM 1.x is currently deprecated - it is no longer in development and not being maintained. Please consider using our 2.x version of AtoM instead! See:
Same base code, same developers and maintainers, and released under the same open source license. However, it includes a new search index, new look and feel, many new features and bug fixes, and completely rewritten documentation.

If you are looking for a test environment installed on a local Windows computer, I would suggest checking out the Vagrant box we maintain, instead of trying to do a full install inside of WAMP, which can be very complicated from what I hear, because WAMP does not always enable all the necessary PHP extensions. Some more information on using our Vagrant box:
The slides are probably the most accessible of the resources. Please note that the AtoM Vagrant box is intended for local development and testing - it is *not* scaled to be used as a production instance!

If you do want to use WAMP, you might want to look through some of our other related posts about Windows - we have a tag for that! See:
Note that we have only been adding tags to our forum posts for the last year or so, so a free search may turn up other results:

We haven't been able to tag all previous messages, but over time, searching by tags will become more and more useful. More information on tags in the AtoM User Forum here:

I hope some of these suggestions help you!

Cheers,
