Dear all,
First, I am wishing you all the best wishes for 2021.
We have described a fonds of photographs to the item level and each item is going to be digitalised. We would like to associate a digital object resulting from the digitalisation to each physical item described in AtoM.
Using Archivematica, we have generated a AIP from all the TIF images resulting from the digitalisation process and a DIP with corresponding JPG. However, uploading the DIP to AtoM will not attach each image to the right item-level description, as Archivematica only takes one slug where the digital objects will be uploaded.
We could generate packages (AIP/DIP) in Archivematica for each digitalised item and upload it to the right slug, but it seems to be irrelevant and overkill.
We have tried using the SWORD interface to script an import, at item level, the right JPG but it seems it requires DIP formatted packages and simple JPG cannot be easily added to a item-level slug through SWORD. We could build pseudo-DIPs for each image but that looks like a lot of work.
The REST API does not seem to expose a function to add digital objects to item based on slug.
Have we overlooked something?
Regards
