Hi all,

Question about physical storage types.

I have added a few new physical object types to the Physical Object Type taxonomy (example: O/S shelf). Issue is, these newly added physical object types are not appearing as options in the drop-down menu when adding new physical storage to an archival description (i.e. More>Link physical storage>Type still returns the default physical object types of Shelf, Box, etc..and not the new ones I have added to the taxonomy)

Anyone else encountering this? Is this a glitch or should I be adding custom physical object types elsewhere as a work around?

Thanks!

Hey all,
You should continue adding these documents to the parent folder you created, mark you parents folders are not edited after you have created a File, fond, series, and item.
To access these new documents that you are adding you can click on the sub folder you are working within the parent folder then you can access your physical objects.

Hi there,

The Physical object type taxonomy is a bit of an outlier, in that it actually contains controlled terms for both containers and locations, both nested under parent terms. There's actually a diagram in the docs at the top of the Terms page using this as an example:

Try moving your term under the parent "Container" term, as I believe the related form dropdown fields are likely filtering from this parent. Let us know how it goes!
