Hello,

Our Atom Instance of version 1.3 has been UN-epxectedly crashing on our production Server. It's producing the following error and also refer the attached Screen Shot,

Unable to open PDO Connection: Cant connect to local MySQL server through Socket 'var/run/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)

Whenever I restart the server, clear symfony Cache and re-build the Search index, the Problem temporarily fixes itself but crashes again after some time .

By the error message it seems it has trouble connecting to the Database or maybe something to do with the php-module. Can someone let me know how to fix this.

Any help, is appreciated !

Hi,

is your MySQL server running?

If is not running check your MySQL log file to see errors. We had similar problem on our productin server. MySQL server was down.
When I have checked log files I saw that scratch disk was full, and that is reason why your MySQL server refused to start.

I hope that this will help you.

Best regards,
Sebastjan

Hi Sebastjan,

When I currently checked our MySQL status, its running fine and here is the status report :

Uptime: 7530  Threads: 1  Questions: 114520  Slow queries: 0  Opens: 429  Flush tables: 1  Open tables: 110  Queries per second avg: 15.208

But this status is when our Atom is working fine. Did you mean that your MySQL server was not running when Atom Crashed ?
I'll report back with the MySQL server status when the Atom Crashes again.

Best,
Prathmesh

Hi Sebastjan,

You were right, the MySQL server was down whenever the Atom crashes.

mysqladmin -u root status
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!

We have restarted the mysqld service and the Instance is running fine for now. It's happening because of Server running out of memory, which might be caused due to inefficient MySQL queries related to Atom or Something else. We will be further analyzing and  keeping an eye on the situation

Thanks for the help !
