Google keep changing their detection code, so my fixes for this that I
put in IBrowse last year no longer work :(. I came to the conclusion that
it would be a waste of time fixing this again in the existing framework
and instead will aim to get it working later.
In the meantime, on the login page (the one before you get the error),
you can either edit the source code by changing the value of the
hidden bgresponse form field, but I found it easier to set up a Macro
menu entry with the following URL:
javascript:void((document.getElementById('bgresponse')).value='js_enabled')
It doesn't have to be a macro - you could make it a fastlink button, put
it in the URL clipboard or hotlist.
Nothing will appear to happen when you select that link, but the JS will
silently modify the form field on the current page (the page before the
error page) to the value that will push IBrowse past the error page.
From there, enter your email and password, ignoring any messages about
too many failed login attempts and hopefully gmail will then load -
click the second button "Basic HTML view".
This currently works in the UK, but I can't be sure if Google are using
different versions of their code elsewhere.
