Hi all,
Does anyone have a working example that includes an IBFE boundary and a CIB boundary? I saw an old thread that mentions a CIBFE method / examples, but I don't see anything like that in the current IBAMR examples. I tried to Frankenstein an IBFE and CIB example together, but it isn't working.

thanks!
Laura

What are you trying to model?

I have a jellyfish bell in IBFE and I want to add a Stationary porous oral arm model using CIB

Could you use target point forces for the rigid part? CIB seems like a pretty heavy hammer for this kind of thing.

Is there a way to make an IBFE boundary porous though? That was the main motivation to use CIB. Thanks!

I don’t know how to make volumetric structures porous. But CIB also doesn’t handle porous structures. (AFAIK, at least!)

I think it can be made porous-ish by modifying the Brinkman penalty? Anyways, I’m just looking for a sloppy approximation at the moment.

If the nodes are very far apart and you use nodal coupling it will act semi-porous.
