Shimek State Forest - Donnellson Unit

I spent the morning and early afternoon hiking around the Donnellson Unit of
Shimek State Forest in Lee County. Notable breeding residents included:

Red-shouldered Hawk 1
Broad-winged Hawk 1
Acadian Flycatcher 12
Carolina Wren 2
Wood Thrush 5
Ovenbird 38
Louisiana Waterthrush 4
Blue-winged Warbler 3
Kentucky Warbler 4
Northern Parula 2
Yellow-throated Warbler 8
Yellow-breasted Chat 2
Summer Tanager 3
Scarlet Tanager 2

Notably absent was Hooded Warbler -- I covered all the spots where I've
found them in previous years with no luck.

I only found four migrant species, all singles: Least Flycatcher, Tennessee
Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, and Canada Warbler.
