Please share with home care agencies and their workers. Thank you!

The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing and the Department of Public Health & Environment are seeking input from stakeholders on training for home care workers. This effort is part of Senate Bill 19-238, which requires the Departments to consult with stakeholders “to establish a process for reviewing and enforcing initial and ongoing training requirements” for home care agency employees. To inform this effort, the Departments are hosting five public listening sessions across Colorado. We invite interested individuals to attend these meetings in person. A flyer with detailed information for each session is attached. Information can also be found on the Department’s webpage: https://www.colorado.gov/hcpf/senate-bill-19-238-training-advisory-committee

In addition to the public listening sessions, a Training Advisory Committee has been formed and is meeting regularly to develop recommendations to meet the requirements of this bill. Members of the public are also invited to attend or listen-in to these Training Advisory Committee meetings. Dates and times can be found on the Department’s webpage included above.

The Departments are also seeking input from home care workers directly and invite all interested workers to participate in one of four in-person and virtual focus groups, or complete a survey to provide feedback and suggestions. The flyer for the home care worker opportunities is also attached. The survey can be complete through this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/COhcasurvey

We appreciate your interest in engaging in these important conversations. If you have questions or would like to submit comments directly, please email: hcpf_dcw...@state.co.us or call 303-866-5086.
