Hi everybody,

I want to use Hugin to stich pictures that I took with a microscope, but I have to be sure that the resolution/format of my picture will be conserved after stitching and not adapted. And for the moment I have the impression that it is not the case. Is their a way?

Thank for your help.

You can set output scaling in File ->Preferences -> Assistant tab,
"Downscale final pano x%",
In the stitcher tab, you can select "Calculate Optimal Size" before
stitching.
Both seem to do the job.

It is possible. There are a few hugin defaults that needs to be
adjusted, and some other steps that ensure the final image is correct.

An example:
http://histoweb.co.za/028/028img003.html

1. Output should be TIFF. You can do jpeg, if you don't plan on doing
anything else with the image. I did find that I got best results by
keeping it as a TIFF.
2. Under Settings: Assistant: Downscale final pano should be set at
100 percent of max. width.
3. After optimisation, but before viewing and adjusting the final
result, I always make sure to click Calculate field of view and
Calculate optimal size (on the Stitcher tab).
4. Be very careful with centre, fit and straighten. Straighten is a
problem and I never touch it when doing slides, the others two less so.

To check, it is a good idea to photograph a photoscale in sections,
stitch, and cross compare by superimposition.
