Hi all,

I've been experimenting more with panoramic imagery and composited images using the Brenizer method (http://blog.buiphotos.com/2009/07/the-brenizer-method-explained-with-directions/) for a while now succesfully with Hugin, however my latest project seems to be hitting a dead end. I'm using (for this example) 354 images (not full resolution!) that have plenty of overlap. Generally this has been okay - the last one had 3-400 as well and although it was a fairly slow process stitching, I've had no problems with either the latest 2011.4 version or now the newer 2013.0 beta version (other than the fact it crashes out if you press the wrong stitch button!)

However, this latest batch has an interesting bug. It'll get to the last image in the sequence and stop on the CPFind stage. If you remove the last image, it merely stops one image sooner. There's no error, no crash, and I can just cancel out - BUT it won't find any control points.

Any clues? I'm stuck - I've tried Googling but found nothing similiar.

This bug is in the same in BOTH versions I've tried...makes me think it might be the images perhaps?

Thanks in advance for your help; I'd really appreciate a hand!

Kind regards,

Mark

Just saw once it is cancelled it does give an error about being unable to remove a temp file (ha31a1.tmp) with error 32, because it is in use. Hope that helps!

This is all on Win7 64 bit, by the way.

Further details - it does actually carry on and "uncrash" if you like - I accidentally left it for an hour or more and it appears to have continued. I've now got about 20-25 instances of "Panorama Tools" running...! Doing a mix of strategies 1 and 2, at various points. Interesting...!
I wonder what's happening here. Maybe the 'weight' of images is just slowing the whole thing down a great deal.
