Call for translators

Hi all translators,

the translation files for the 2016.2 release are in a bad shape.
Only 2 languages have a full coverage:
da.po
sk.po
1560 translated messages.

Then there are some languages which needs only little work:
ca_ES.po           1482 translated messages, 49 fuzzy translations, 29 untranslated messages.
ca...@valencia.po  1482 translated messages, 49 fuzzy translations, 29 untranslated messages.
cs_CZ.po           1489 translated messages, 49 fuzzy translations, 22 untranslated messages.
de.po              1547 translated messages, 11 fuzzy translations, 2 untranslated messages.
fr.po              1547 translated messages, 11 fuzzy translations, 2 untranslated messages.
hu.po              1532 translated messages, 19 fuzzy translations, 9 untranslated messages.
it.po              1532 translated messages, 18 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
pt_BR.po           1532 translated messages, 18 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.

And then there are languages with needs more work to bring them up to date:
nl.po     1322 translated messages, 145 fuzzy translations,  93 untranslated messages.
pl.po     1295 translated messages, 156 fuzzy translations, 109 untranslated messages.
ru.po     1296 translated messages, 157 fuzzy translations, 107 untranslated messages.
zh_CN.po  1331 translated messages, 137 fuzzy translations,  92 untranslated messages.
zh_TW.po  1285 translated messages, 162 fuzzy translations, 113 untranslated messages.
es.po     1189 translated messages, 219 fuzzy translations, 152 untranslated messages.
eu.po      980 translated messages, 302 fuzzy translations, 278 untranslated messages.
fi.po      771 translated messages, 431 fuzzy translations, 358 untranslated messages.
ja.po     1080 translated messages, 300 fuzzy translations, 180 untranslated messages.
ro.po      636 translated messages, 517 fuzzy translations, 407 untranslated messages.
sv.po     1051 translated messages, 327 fuzzy translations, 182 untranslated messages.

So please update your language files and upload your updated files to the tracker at https://bugs.launchpad.net/hugin (or commit if you have write access to the repository).
Especially the last ones are candidates to be removed from the default install, if the coverage does not improve.

Hello,

I just contacted Mr Coulon, whose name is at the top of the french translation PO file, about it.
I have no clue about using PO files for translation, but if one can show me an easy tool to use to get it done, I wouldn't mind giving a hand :)

Hi,

I thought I had set my mercurial to the 2016.2 branch but I accidently pushed to the default tree. 

I assume my knowledge is by now too rusty.

I also checked and improved some older translations.

By now that becomes a big job with 9682 lines in total with 7733 text containing lines (1949 blank lines).

Which branch should translations be pushed to (in this case and in general)? I always work on the default branch; is that incorrect?

Hi Thomas P.

No, this is correct. I would prefer to work in the default branch and the release manager takes then the care to transfer to the release branch.

But to make this work, the translations template should not updated on your own (This don't refer to you, but there are some translators which update always the pot file.)
