Has anyone else had problems with PTBatcherGUI? Whenever I use Hugin, and close the program, it doesn't close PTBatcher, which then hangs the computer when I shut down, making me force close PTBatcher. I am running 64 bit WIN 7 on a Velocity Micro machine with an i7 processor and 16 gigs memory.

Hmm, you mean you close Hugin and the PTBatcher GUI window remains open?

Has been like that for ages, since PTBatcher GUI can be used without
Hugin, IIRC.

Running mine on Debian Sid Linux on a machine also with an i7 processor,
but only 8 gigs memory. I just make a habit of closing the batcher GUI
after I'm done with Hugin and panorama processing.

Yes, I have the same problem, and I am pretty sure it is specific to Windows. Whenever PTBatcherGUI issues a warning it generates a pop-up window that must be dismissed or PTBatcherGUI becomes unresponsive. The pop-ups dissappear quickly and must be manually dismissed before they dissappear. PTBatcherGUI generates warnings prolifically, so pretty much always becomes unresponsive. I just kill it with the task manager. I believe one can configure hugin so it doesn't batch stitch jobs, which should avoid the problem, but I've never learned how.

I got annoyed with PTBatcherGUI getting in the way of my shutting
Windows down. Then it dawned on me that, as I never stitched more than
one project at a time, I hardly needed a batch stitcher. So I switched
it off:

File/Preferences/Stitching/Processor=Hugin_stitch_project

That must be specific to Windows. On Linux, I haven't had PTBatcher GUI
issue many warnings; when it does, they don't disappear before they're
dismissed and never leave PTB GUI unresponsive.

I wouldn't be surprised if killing PTB GUI from task manager isn't
leaving behind some scrambled and/or otherwise corrupted entries behind
in a config file or such, leading to other problems, though.

In hugin, select File -> Preferences and in the Stitching tab, for
"Processor" select "Hugin_Stitch_Project".

That's what I do also. I don't really see any use for PTBatcher in my workflow, so I always disable it.

This is a case for the bug tracker. But when nobody reports the bug, it can't be fixed.
Instead there are many mails "me too". So the question for the "me too" mailers: Why did you not report the bug?

The issue has been fixed in the repository.

PS: And the mails "I don't use it" does not help any.
