Sometimes optimising a large number of images doesn't go well,
and one might like to optimise a small set, then add the difficult
images one at a time.

However, if realises this when a large number of images are *already*
in the project, with a large set of hand tuned CPs representing
a few hours work, how can one proceed?

Is there a way to eliminate individual images from the optimiser,
and then add them later?

I presently have a trivial 2 image case where I have some horiz
and vert control points on image 0, and would like to optimise
it to be "right way up" before attempting to get it to fit together
with the other image.

I have some 20 hand placed CPs points, and would rather like to keep them :-)

This feature has worked in the past simply by turning off images in
the preview, have you tried this? It might work.

Use "Custom Parameters" in the optimize section. This will bring up an Optimizer tab where you can select which parameters to optimize, including which pictures to optimize. There is also a checkbox whether to use only those image visible in the preview window.

I can't see anything that would do that in the dialog (dialog snapshot attached)

I can see that checkbox; I'll try it.

You are at nearly there.
Bold values at the screenshot are being optimized. You can change it by Ctrl+click on that value.

Yes, but I want to ignore the control points from an image, as opposed
to not evaluate the transformation parameters.

Oh, sorry for misunderstanding.
May following workaround fit your need? But maybe I don't understand what do you need.
1. select "Only use controll points between images selected in preview window"
2. deselect image in preview window for which you want to ignore controll points in this step
3. optimize for all images
4. select the image in preview window
5. optimize only image excluded in previous step

Regards
David
