Being not so familiar with the mathematical and statistical methods of processing images, I pay special attention at user interfaces and comfort of using any software.

In the panorama editor adding and moving control points is done with the left mouse button. It is hard to work with control points using only the left button, often a new point is added instead moving an existing one.

Moving the zoomed image left using the wheel left is not working in some controllers.

Some quick actions are available from keyboard shortcuts. Manual work with editing control points, adding straight lines often requires to look at the images from some distance, the keyboard is sometimes out of reach. Sometimes the other hand is operating a mobile device etc.

My suggestion is to improve the Panorama Editor engaging all mouse buttons.

Left click = move a control point
Right click = add a new point (or alternatively, depending on user's choice)
Mouse wheel up = zoom +
Mouse wheel down = zoom - (the default zoom factors - fit to window, 25% - 200%)
Wheel click = fine tune the active pair of control points
Left click and move mouse = move the zoomed image.
Buttons previous / next, available in many controllers = jump to the prev / next image pair

that's the same mouse action, but 2 different results Then you will complain again.

Right click = add a new point (or alternatively, depending on user's choice)
That's the current implemented action for the right mouse button.

Wheel click = fine tune the active pair of control points
The middle mouse button is already in use

So this wish can not implemented.

The difference is whether a control point has been clicked or an area without control points in proximity.

In the builds 2014 and 2016 for Windows 32bit the RMB does nothing. LMB both adds a new point when clicked on the blank area or moves one of the existing points. The behaviour is hard to guess when clicked close to an existing point. I mentioned earlier about the proximity area - rectangle or circle to determine if a control point has been clicked.

This particular mobile device is used as a phone in about 1% cases. Transfer, test, reasm, transfer, test, next file :)

Now I really need help, because the Simple Interface mode is not active. May it be caused by updating the graphic card driver yesterday?

Manual straightening of some panoramas or single images (or stacks) require only to be moved horizontally.
When the preview is moved by mouse, there's no way to avoid moving it also vertically, what is not desired. I suggest to engage the cursor keys to move the image only horizontally or vertically without affecting the other axis.

Hi Abrimaal,

the panotools wiki lists some more shortcuts other than the 'shift'+drag
option already mentioned by David:

<http://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_Control_Points_tab#Keyboard_shortcuts>

Cheers,
Carl
