Auto optimiser.exe has stopped working

Hi 

I am using Hugin 2016 on a PC running windows 8.

I import the images to make a panorama into Hugin, then mask the tripod and crop the images to the right sizes. I then click align in the simple interface, hugin begins aligning for about 30 seconds and then an error window pops up saying " autooptimiser.exe has stopped working"

does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I get exactly the same problem with Hugin 2016.0.0 (32-bit) too, running on a Windows 10 64-bit machine. During alignment, everything goes smoothly until an error occurs saying autooptimiser.exe has stopped working. I do not get this problem with build 2015 (64-bit) which still works correctly when I roll back to it. I did a full clean uninstall between installing each version, including removing settings.

Any ideas?

I have same error, Im using win10 x64 and hugin 2016.0, when I try to align pictures " autooptimiser.exe has stopped working" error appears, what should I do?
