Hello there,

My name is Sybren, and I enjoy shooting spherical panorama photos with my drone (a DJI Mavic 2 Pro). The drone includes its own orientation and the camera gimbal orientation in the EXIF information of each photo:

GimbalRollDegree                : +0.00
GimbalYawDegree                 : +140.90
GimbalPitchDegree               : -16.80
FlightRollDegree                : +4.10
FlightYawDegree                 : +124.10
FlightPitchDegree               : +3.30
CamReverse                      : 0
GimbalReverse                   : 0

Is it possible to use those EXIF tags when loading the photos into Hugin? That would position the photos in roughly the correct location, and make hard-to-stitch projects (like a rolling sea, where there are no stable points at all) a lot easier to work with.

Cheers,
Sybren

This was discussed recently for a similar drone. See https://groups.google.com/d/msg/hugin-ptx/Af7TG2Bq-ko/WzqwzGigHAAJ
Maybe it needs some little adjustments.

Thanks for the fast reply. I can make the adjustments, I can run the assistant via Edit > User Defined Assistant menu. Hugin says there are errors in the file (probably some bad adjustments by me) with a popup, but before showing the popup it removes the actual errors from the screen. It just flies by very rapidly. Is there any way to see those errors?

PS: I managed to fix the errors by manually running the modified command on the CLI, and now it works like a charm. Thanks again!

Activate option copy log to clipboard in the preferences and inspect the clipboard content after running.

Alternatively run it from the command line (hugin_executor --assistant --user-defined-assistant=...)
