You folks who work in biology/biotech amaze me. You function in a totally different world from mine.
What also amazes me is that people who really should know better (such as multinational LSP's) think that translators are interchangeable, that as long as you know Japanese and English you should be able to translate in fields ranging from Buddhist philosophy, to agricultural diseases, to cryptology, to quantum theory as it applies to semiconductor devices, to textile manufacturing, to the history of opera, to animal husbandry, to genetic engineering…
I consider myself skilled in one of the fields listed above, but clueless at the rest, so I am glad that the rest of you on this line are able to cover those fields so I don't have to...
