Hi all,

I'm distributer of Japan for NIRx Medical Technologies, LLC.
I have only recently begun to use Homer3 as an analysis for NIRSport2.

Because NIRx have accelerometer for NIRSport2 and,  Homer3 can use accelerometer data of .nirs file form NIRx software "Aurora".

But now, I find  for GLM using accelerometer data,  not for time series motion correction.

our customer want to analysis open field NIRS.
Therefore, it seems that I want to apply correction of the accelerometer in time series rather than GLM.

I'm so happy if I get advice for you.

Hi Shusaku,

You mean you want to remove motion artifact from fnirs signal in real time?
Otherwise, check out tCCA-GLM approach (von Lühmann 2020) linked below which is also implemented in Homer3 (but would still use GLM with accelerometer data to correct for motion).

For the robust estimation of evoked brain activity from functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) signals, it is crucial to reduce nuisance signals from systemic physiology and motion. The current best practice incorporates short-separation (SS) fNIRS measurements as regressors in a General Line …

Hi Meryem,

Thank you for reply!

Yes,  as you said, our customer wants  to remove motion artifact from fnirs signal in real time.

And, I know Homer3 can use accelerometer data form NIRx NIRSport2 for regressor of GLM.(tCCA-GLM).

Could you advice for me about it? I do not have so much NIRS knowledge.
Isn't the accelerometer data suitable to use for removing from real-time data?
Is it better for using one of regressor for GLM.

Thank you
