You are welcome to bring your wheels. Our living room is not as large are Toni’s, but we have additional spaces all around the living room.

Hello Everyone,
My husband just gave me an update of the expected weather for this week. We are to have significant snow and on Saturday there may be very significant winds. OF course, things can change by then. I will watch the weather and re-evaluate whether it is wise to come out or not on Thursday and again on Friday. If there is a lot of blowing and drifting on Saturday, that can be a real problem with some of our roads.
Hold off on making your dish to pass until we decide if we can get together to pass those dishes around.
Hoping we can get together on Saturday,
Sharon

Gary,
Your placemats look great. What a nice gift they will be.
As for Saturday, that is still in doubt. I will be watching the weather and sending out a decision on Friday. While we may not have gotten as much snow as they forecasted, on Tuesday our road was hazardous for a period of time. I just don’t want to invite people out and have someone get stranded or in an accident. Voss Road is north/south and is hard to keep clear with a strong westerly wind. All that said, hoping that we can get together, a salad or rolls might be nice. One of the other members is bringing a vegetable plate and I am planning on Baked Potato soup and a cheesecake.

OK, we delayed while holding our breaths over the weather forecast. Now that we've seen what a dud the first big threat was, Gary and I are ready to commit to Saturday's event, assuming it's still on. Gary wants to bring a "southwest cheesecake" which is an appetizer thingy served with tortilla chips. I can add something else, but what's needed? Tossed salad? Bread or rolls? Casserole dish?

Hello Everyone,
Please watch for an email this evening about whether we should meet tomorrow or not. I will keep an eye on the weather outlook for tomorrow morning. I love being retired and not having to drive to work in the early morning hours on days like this.
Hope you are all safe and warm in your homes. Careful with the snow shoveling.
Sharon
Hello Everyone.
After watching the weather again, I really feel we should cancel our meeting tomorrow. The increase winds overnight and through the morning, as well as the fluffy snow that is still to come will make blowing and drifting a real problem. Lar has plowed our driveway a couple of times today and said that if anyone came he would escort them from the car to the house….so that is still some slippery conditions. I think we should stay home, stay warm, and have a cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate or whatever and toast each other at 10 am and look forward to seeing each other next month. Do we want to try the pot luck again then or return to the library for our regular meeting, maybe planning a summer time pot luck. Give it some thought.
Stay safe and warm.
Sharon

Thanks for your email. My son shoveled our drive 3 times today and the streets are only partially cleared. I booked us into the library on second Saturdays thru June with the exception of April when the Library hosts an indoor mini golf fundraiser on the second Saturday and needs all of their space. So think about what we could do in April and cheers to fiber projects at home tomorrow.

We are also glad for your safe travels. Enjoy your trip.
Hello Everyone,
At our last guild meeting we discussed possibilities for the April meeting. The library has need of our space of that date. One thought was to do a dye day possibly at the Farm Bureau. They have tables, lots of them and a kitchen area. We need more then one oven to heat up our dye containers during the class, so the kitchen there might be a good choice. Anyway, the other thing that came up was a day at the Batavia library. Roxanne and Cindy have arranged for a “demo” day there. Having people spinning, knitting, weaving? Having a small class available. They will be there all day, but if members would like to ride share together and a couple of them be there at different times of the day, we could help increase awareness of the Hollow Tree spinners and help Roxanne and Cindy. Let us know what you think. Again, this would be in place of our April 13th meeting.
Now back to the dye day. The link below shows what got us all thinking about dyeing again. It is fun to watch and we all wonder how he does that without getting the colors muddy. The plan is to have a dye day later on. So, you might want to plan ahead. If you would like to spin some yarn this is your opportunity to get ahead of the need and start spinning sooner rather than later. You could have some skeins ready to experiment with. If you would like to dye some “store bought” yarn, you can start checking it out and see what you might like to work with. You might want to try different weight yarns like he does in the video. The choice is yours.
Sharon
Hello again, everyone,
Being that the computer apparently did an update, and my technology ineptitude, I was unable to put two web sites together on my recent email. So, here is the second sight I wanted to share. Barb Muelhausen sent this along. It is a very interesting look into the Border Collies that do the sheep herding in Ireland. Hope you enjoy it.
