Hi all,

If you're in the Bay Area and interested, Prof. K. S. Kannan, visiting from Bengaluru, is giving a couple of talks this weekend. Talks in English, with Sanskrit text explained/discussed, interspersed by singing of the verses by Smt. Meera Kannan -- kAvya-vAchana-vyAkhyAna.

(Prof. KSK taught Sanskrit in Bangalore for over 40 years, and was former director of the Karnataka Samskrit University -- also happens to be my uncle.)

• Saturday, 2:30 pm
  
• On Mukundamala, a devotional poem to Krishna, by Kulashekhara Alwar (9th century CE?),
  followed by
• On a Gajendra Moksham kavya by H S Varada Deshikacharya (the purvashrama name of HH Rangapriya Swamiji)

• Sunday, 2 to 4 pm
• On the topic of Sita Parityaga, based on Sarga 14 of Kalidasa's Raghuvamsha.
• Venue: 821 Alder Drive, Milpitas, CA (Cisco Building 22)

Both events are free to attend.

If the talks were in English or Sanskrit, please forward them to me. I assume the events already occurred, since the original email is dated Oct 5. I think I noted an email about lectures in Kannada but this email seems to suggest the talks were in English. If so, I'd be very interested in the recordings.
