Just follow the instructions (https://ecdp2020.grand-challenge.org/Dataset/ ), and use the Converter you find within Case Viewer.

The frustrating thing is that I may need to purchase a license to for Converter to even view or convert the data set.

You don't have to pay anything
It is a free software. Just go to  https://www.3dhistech.com/software-downloads and download the CaseViewer 2.3 (64-bit version) for Windows.
Make sure that you have selected (during the installation afters electiong the destination folder) the "install slide converter".

If you work on linux you can use instead QuPath (https://github.com/qupath/qupath/releases/tag/v0.2.0-m6) that allows you to open mrsx files and exporte as ome-tiff.

I was able to install the CaseViewer. However, It does not recognize or show the .dat file when trying to import image. I just downloaded one file to see if works. Do I need to download the whole folder in order to see all the images?

Each "image" has several files. One mrsx (the main file) that should be accompanied by a folder with the same name and a set of dat files. None of these files suits your purposes without the remaining ones. If you want to test, download e.g. 1.mrsx and the folder 1/ (folder plus all its contents), and open 1.mrsx with case viewer or qupath.

The link to google drive only shows .dat extensions inside the folders. I do not see .mrsx extensions. I also tried the other link provided. However, I do not have user/password to access it.

you need the mrsxs and the folder with the same name. The mrsx are outside the foder (in the same mother directory- in Gdrive scroll down to find the mrsx). Open the mrsx file (the folder and the dat files will be used without your intervention)

I defiantly owe you an apology for your time. I wasn't paying attention to details. Thank you for your help!
