Is Desarda repair for Bilateral lnquinal Herina a good option in 2023 ?

Hi Friends.

I have been diagnosed with Bilateral Inguinal Hernia.The defects are small and reducible but have recently been causing severe groin pain, constipation and scrotum swelling. 

I am considering surgery soon, but the most difficult decision has been to decide on the best procedure for Bilateral Inguinal Hernia. 

Most surgeons that I have consulted in Bangalore are recommending Laparoscopic repair with mesh as the recovery time for bilateral hernia is  much faster and with the recent improvement in mesh 

quality the recurrence rate and infections these days are negligible.

The Desara's repair has been there for more than a decade now and since it's not very widely used , finding a doctor with good experience in Desarda's repair has been a difficult  task.

This makes me ask if Desarda repair for Bilateral inguinal Hernia is a good option in 2023 ?

We have clearly said on our website www.desarda.com that never get hernia surgery done done through laparoscope even if it is a bilateral hernia case. The mesh a simple piece of synthetic cloth, howsoever treated with chemicals is a foreign body and it is stitched inside the abdomen (Pre peritoneal) that may cause more serious complications.

It is the best option, I've had mine done over 15 years ago with no problems whatsoever.
