Hi,

I have  Thetis-HL2 Beta 5 working with DXLog.net for SO2V.
I can key VFO A using a serial COM ports from DXLog, but when in TX focus is on VFO B and in SPLIT -  the HL2 will not key properly and there is no power output.
PTT is ok.
Using an external keyer is ok.

The COM keying port in the HL2 is setup via Options-> DSP -> CW -> Secondary -> COM port PTT and key lines.

I am not sure if my settings are wrong, or there is a limitation here when using COM port keying. Any advise will be appreciated.

I am trying to use this setup in a remote configuration w/o an additional external keyer and PC.

Hi Angel,

I think others can help better with specific PowerSDR settings, but I just want to make sure your TX problem is not HL2 related. Does TX work with other PowerSDR configurations or software (Quisk, SparkSDR, SDRConsole)? If not, do you see RF output when you key CW directly from the jack on the HL2, ground tip?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your note.  I see RF when keying CW directly from the HL2 front jack at the VFO B frequency [SPLIT]. So, I do not think the problem is HL2 related. Keying VFO A via software COM port also working ok as I mentioned in my first message.
I have not yet tried other PowerSDR configurations or software yet.

Hi Angel,

I have a MIDI keyer setup and haven't been able to get it to Tx on VFO B. I think this is an issue that will get address in the future.

I have recently discovered that more work is being put into Thetis development by the HPSDR group. Check out this links on the Apache forums. There is also YouTube videos of the work being done (links in the forum).

I have tried to contact Richie (mw0lge) to get an early exposure of the fixes and updates but no joy so far. I haven't gone through all the releases he has made but there are many fixes in there that I recognised as issues I have looked at. I really don't want to have to re-invent the wheel, so I hope that I can touch base with him.

In Thetis HL2 B5, I also was not able to get the MIDI CW keyer to key up in split mode with RX1.  However, If I turn on RX2 and hit split, the red VFO A (Sub vfo A) turns on and I can set this to any frequency and the CW will TX on that frequency.  So the same effect, just flipped 😊.

I think you can do something like this with MultiRX as well, but the user interface is not great. It would be nice to be able to decide which VFO your mouse wheel changes. Maybe you can and I haven't found that out yet!

Hi Reid.

Thanks for the info and all your work. Fully understand. Hopefully this will get fixed in the 'core' Thetis sw soon. I will use a winkeyer for now. I have not played with the MIDI keyers yet.
