Hello

To use HL2 and cwskimsvr I followed the M1GEO tutorial step by step.

See https://www.george-smart.co.uk/2020/12/using-cw-skimmer-with-hermes-lite-2-sdr/

I have installed the gateware testing/20201107_72p5/hl2b5up_main/hermeslite.rbf
with SDRspark and HermesIntf.dll from G7VKQ.

When I start Skimsvr, i get the message "access violation" and the program crashes.

Probably got the wrong gateware. Which one is ok ?

I appreciate any help.

Hi Andre,
I don't think it is the gateware
I had it working with several gateware on one machine, but it gives me the same access violation on other machines.
I even did a fresh windows install on two different machines with same result.
Then it broke on the original machine I had it working on too.
I think the hermesintf.dll needs some work.
Sorry to say I don't have the skills for that.

Hi Andre,

That gateware version does have the ability to disable the watchdog timer so should work. The latest stable gateware release is recommended:

It does sound like the problem is on the software side as Mike mentioned. Perhaps an illegal memory access or memory leak.
