Hello all,
I have been troubleshooting (remotely) a very strange TX audio echo problem that a friend of mine is having with his Thetis 2.9.0.8 HL2 Beta 1 installation.
It was working perfectly until he
accidentally started Thetis with the CTRL keyboard button pressed (it was an accident - something was resting on his keyboard!) This seems to have created a big problem with TX audio (echo) that I have not been able to solve.
These are the messages that are generated by THETIS if you start the program with CTRL pressed (please don't try this unless you like pain! haha):

THE PROBLEM: TX audio now has a significant ECHO in all modes. This issue happened immediately after the CTRL Key startup. I have tried basically everything to resolve this issue for him, including:- I have tested the hardware audio chain to confirm the microphone and mixer are only providing clean audio (perfectly good into other applications).
- I have tested a totally different microphone and soundcard.
- I have confirmed all Windows soundcard settings are correct.
- I have tried different sample rates.
- I have reset the Database.
- I have imported a known good Database.
- I have uninstalled THETIS 2.9.0.8 and THETIS 2.9.0.8 HL2 Beta1, and manually deleted the databases.
- I have fully re-installed THETIS and the same TX audio echo problem occurs.
I am at a total loss. What did the CTRL function do???!!!! Are there some registry changes or similar I need to hunt down that a normal uninstall won’t remove, perhaps?
If anyone can provide any assistance, my friend (who I am helping with this) and I, will be very grateful!
