Hi All,

In my software SDR Console, to enable Band Volts I set Base Memory Map C0 00 bit 11 to 1. Is this correct, is there anything else I must do to get Band Volts working?

A user tells me all is good with Thetis, but not SDR Console.

TIA

Did you try below and set it band volts?

Ronald, just to clarify, Simon is the software author for SDRC, not a general user.

Just to add to Simon's request for programming info, is there anyone out there who has successfully used the band volts feature (fan volts back panel mod) with SDRC? I asked for ti but have not yet done the back panel mod so I can't test it (I don't think?). If there's a way to check the programming by measurement without actually doing the mod that would also be useful to know?

Max, aha sorry for my misunderstanding and confusion.

Hi Max,

I downloaded the latest version of SDCC and tested the original Band Volts output (not using the I/O Board). It doesn't appear to work and gave a fixed voltage output which didn't change went I moved the receive frequency band. I would have tried to transmit to see if it changed but in my quick test, I couldn't see a Tx button.

Cheers

No worries Ronald.

Reid, thanks for coming back and also for testing. So is that the normal behaviour? So what I mean is, should the bandvolts change purely from change of frequency without needing to enter TX at any point?

To see most of the TX options (including TX button) you need to enable the TX DSP panel (see attached). Start the HL2 then "Transmit" becomes available as a menu item at top of screen, then select "TX DSP". Now you see TX options.

OK, when I add the Tx DSP, the Band Volts comes to life. I didn't have to transmit but the Tx DSP must be active to make it work. I didn't go as far as to check all the voltages were correct but they are changing as the bands change.

Many thanks Reid. Looks like you cracked it. I guess the band volts only change in response to the TX frequency being sent to HL2 not RX frequency or something like that? Thanks for testing.
