Still in the testing phase, but Rick gave the approval to share.

Just a reminder  yes my project is still in beta phase and updates are coming along weekly sometimes quicker. CW is not currently in the TX build that is coming in the next phase as well as RX2 and Split mode- Pure signal is planned as the last phase.
Use  with caution into an Amplifier please, I do plan on adding a RF max output setting so if you happen to go over that it will stop TX  quickly as well as SWR threshold protection as well.

Please use the GitHub channel for posting questions or issues as I don't wish to track 15 places to see a : You never answered my ?

Thanks and hope you enjoy the application

A native SDR transceiver for the Hermes Lite 2 / 2+
Built in C++23 and Qt 6 — performance, polish, and a station you arrange your way.
Lyra is a ground-up native desktop transceiver for the Hermes Lite 2 and 2+ (HPSDR Protocol 1). It pairs a
professional-grade receive and transmit DSP chain with a fluid, GPU-accelerated interface you can rearrange to fit how you
operate. The receive DSP is built on the respected WDSP engine; the transmit baseline is ported from the openHPSDR
Thetis ChannelMaster architecture — and on top of that Lyra adds a complete native audio-processing rack you would
normally only get from outboard studio gear.

Attached is an overview document

Hello Rick,

Is there any hope to have a version compatible with the Anan 10E revised Hermes board or even the Brick2 ?

Very nice piece of software. Looks very promising.

As outlined in the PDF document, yes I will be supporting or hopefully supporting the entire anan-family protocol 1 protocol 2 and the brick2 S
DR after I have everything else working that may be 3 months. It could be 6 months but it is in the road map

Please use the discord channel.. going fowrd if you would.

You'll need to select it from the audio panels

In audio set your input for your mic. In the tx panel you'll need to select pc sound card and vac1 most likely
I haven't built Line In  just yet

So audio tab  click drop down for input device and select what your using for mic. Then on ta panel tab try using the mic source set to pc soundcard vac1 that will route the input for MIC to the source for mic in audio

Hello

Okay that does present a problem..since it's Blocked for you.

I will try to check here perhaps 1 or 2 times a week no guarantees as I look more at the GitHub issue section and Discord (which is preferred method)

CTUN ? Describe if possible there is a Tune button it's in the tx panel next to mox is this different?

I'm going to add options for Tune later this week so if you can describe what you mean I will try to add it.

Did push a couple updates last few days as well adding split and repeater options tying them into memories so it recalls all the repeater settings for FM 10/6 meters (yes I now Hermes doesn't do 6m) but others I add later can.

Split for other modes like ssb is now working as well.

The help guide in Lyra is built and gets updated as things are added or if they change.

Next big section will be RX2

In meantime trying to get a few smaller ones knocked out first as they will need to be in place for RX2 then Pure Signal

Cheers Rick

Hello all,

I just istalled and have latest Lyta running well on my HL2 in WIN 10 land. What a brilliant, challenging re-write in C++, wow! My main rig is the FLEX 5000 and KE9SN PowerSDR. My only problem is figuring out how to bind the panels to the main window after challenging resizing to build a useful radio panel. Maybe I need to read a manual <G> Long ago before moving to a management position to make the big bucks, I wrote a lot of C, Smalltalk and Java code so my deep appreciation for this complex work is well founded.

Cheers all.

Thanks for the nice words.

What problem are you having with layout?

The panels should resize and snap next each other.

Some of them won't shirk down too far or your loose view of some buttons/options

They can be nested and when doing that they become tabs they can be clicked to open and close.

The DSP panels and cw panels do not dock those are floating.

Thanks

Grade Wizard Rick,

I resize and place panels where I want them - attached jpg
My problem is they are not bound to the main window, they are all a floating group.
I am not getting all words like this:
    Move a panel: drag it by its title bar. Drop it against an edge to re-dock, or out on its own to float.
I see no docking behaviour of any kind, hope I'm just being dull here.
What is an edge?
Everything is floating and clicking Maximize is useless.
Just trying to build a handy radio view like PowerSDR and Thetis.

Thanks again,

Hi Randy
I would like to 2nd the difficulty in resizing each panel.
When I move the mouse cursor the resize arrow quickly appears and disappears.
I have tried the Ctrl button as well as the Shift button, while moving the mouse cursor to the
edge of each window. Seems like the Shift+cursor works somewhat better, but not all
the time.

thanks

Jim,

I had to set my mouse to enhanced precision but still difficult to resize.
Ideally, we need a way to resize and position all panels to one's taste and have all the panels bound to the Lyra window,.
I achieve the layout I wanted but panels are all floating in the Windows desktop.
The top DSP tabs all work perfectly to pop up the feature rich TX/RX EQ views.
I am sure I just don't have the knowledge yet to do this.

My problem is that I can not build what I want in the docked mode. The system resizes and moves etc.
One needs to control size and position with no "help".
I'm hoping I am just not getting something. I can build and use the attached most excellent layout in the undocked mode only.
I'll revist next week when I go on vacation and have time to be useful.

Dock Panels are horizontal
They will fill a row unless you dock another alongside of it,  they will still then fill the complete horizontal row

That becomes ones a horizontal column /row
It's width rides all those panels in the column or row. Unless you float them.

The panadapter and waterfall are one panel they are not separate there is a marker in the left corner of the waterfall which will collapse only the waterfall view.

There is a divider between the panadapter and waterfall to resize the area between the two.

The DSP panels are floating they do not dock but are sizeable and can be moved where you wish.

I'll add edge markers that highlight and an easier way to grab the panel (upper left corner) then cyan box or marker where the panel would be placed if dragging it.thst should make it a bit earlier to us.

I'll also add a 4 layout saved option so you can set and recall up to 4 layouts that are can be named.persistant on restarting.

Should have later this evening

Kudos for building this software out. I love the complete flexibility and choices this gives to the Ham radio operator.

Having said that, now that I have complete flexibility I need to have ideas for how I want it to look.

It's amazing, for years we're given control panels and layouts done by someone else, and it's easy to Monday morning quarterback the user interface.

Now there's no excuses, it's up to us now.

Under view layouts the a place to save 4 different views and name them, then recall any 1 of them plus the premade default that ships with Lyra.

LYRE Test Report

I started testing a bit with my HL2 on WIN 10 with Lyra v0.7.0.
Amazing feature laden design.

- Fast start up - my Thetis and KE9SN PowerSDR are painfully slow just starting up.
- S Meter finest, most cool ever!
- Top line TAGS to display DSP and othe panes most excellent, allows quick display for feature laden TX/RX EQ, CW Decide etc.
- CAT fails to talk to WSJT using com0com 5->6, works fine on Thetis, possuble driver issue?
- I finally acheived a nice layout in floating mode only, Docked forget it, too much QT6 help. See attached. Current undocked supports
excellent manual sizing and placement - absolutley required to build anything spiffy with limited screen real estate.

I suggest the QT6 windowing be changed. Maybe add a Visuals setting Option with the default to floating panes within the Lyre main windows and not the WIN 10 freeking Desktop Window.

I found the following with a possible easy C++ change example:

To contain all undocked (floating) panes entirely within the main window
in Qt6, you need to switch from the standard docking system to a MDI
(Multiple Document Interface) layout using QMdiArea.
This forces all sub-windows to stay inside the parent QMainWindow even
when undocked.

cpp
#include <QMainWindow>
#include <QMdiArea>
#include <QMdiSubWindow>
#include <QTextEdit>

class MainWindow : public QMainWindow {

Just to verify, in the COM Port settings in Lyra, did you make sure that you were actually using COM port and not TCP by default the settings default to TCP in that UI panel, please check again to make sure because I've used it with VAR lAC as COM Port and jtdx here and seems to be working correctly at least on my setup. I'll keep a note about the floating option thank you.

I'll redo the comport panel to make that more obvious between TCP and Comport.

LYRA Test Report

I started testing a bit with my HL2 on WIN 10 with Lyre v0.7.0.
Amazing feature laden design, fantastic work Lyra team!

- Fast start up - my Thetis and KE9SN PowerSDR are painfully slow just starting up.
- S Meter finest, most cool ever.

- Top line TAGS to display DSP and othe panes most excellent, allows quick display for feature laden TX/RX EQ, CW Decide etc.
- CAT fails to talk to WSJT using com0com 5->6, works fine on Thetis,possuble driver issue?
- I finally acheived a nice layout in floating mode only, Docked forget it, too much QT6 help. See attached. Current undocked suports

excellent manual sizing and placement - absolutley required to build  anything spiffy with limited screen real estate.

I suggest the QT6 windowing be changed. Maybe add a Visuals setting Option with the default to floating panes within the Lyre main windows and not the WIN 10 Desktop Window.

I found the following with a possible easy C++ change example:

To contain all undocked (floating) panes entirely within the main window in Qt6, you need to switch from the standard docking system to a MDI (Multiple Document Interface) layout using QMdiArea.This forces all sub-windows to stay inside the parent QMainWindow even
when undocked.

cpp#include <QMainWindow>

#include <QMdiArea>
#include <QMdiSubWindow>
#include <QTextEdit>

class MainWindow : public QMainWindow {
    Q_OBJECT
public:
    MainWindow(QWidget *parent = nullptr) : QMainWindow(parent) {
        QMdiArea *mdiArea = new QMdiArea(this);
        setCentralWidget(mdiArea);

        // Add a child window
        QTextEdit *editor = new QTextEdit();
        QMdiSubWindow *subWindow = mdiArea->addSubWindow(editor);
        subWindow->setWindowTitle("Internal Undocked Window");
        subWindow->show();
    }
};

Hi Rick,First of all, thank you so much for adding the CTUN button in the previous updates! It makes using Lyra with the Hermes-Lite 2 so much more convenient.I have a small feature request regarding its behavior. Could you please make the CTUN button remember its state across application restarts?Right now, every time I launch Lyra, CTUN defaults to being disabled. It would be amazing if it could work as a persistent toggle button, saving its ON/OFF state so that if I leave it enabled, it stays enabled the next time I open the program.Thanks again for your incredible work and for being so responsive to the community!Best regards,Serj

Testing v0.9.0 on WIN 10.
Still can't make CAT play with WSJT.
Using com0com com5-6 pair, works well with PowerSDR and Hermes, fails on Lyra with error in bottom left corner.
CAT: cannot open COM5 (access denied) - see attachment.
It worked once when I switched to com1 and back but never more.
I tried starting Lyra in admin to no avail.

Ideas?

You also have com5 assigned to your serial PTT input....that's preventing access...I saw that myself this week. Change the PTT port or disable it.

Send me screenshots of your common serial panel. Also attach the log that gets built. If you go to help the top corner scroll down, you'll see log open log capture, save it as a text file and send it to me

Look at your ptt serial port you have that enabled and on com5 then your trying to set cat 1 to com 5 as well you can't

The other end of com 5 needs to go to your other software not back to Lyra

Your ptt trigger and your comport in your screenshot you have or are trying to use the same comport in your case com5

The other end of com5 in your virtual comport setup of comOcom goes to the software application your try to use.

You either need to make ptt a different Port or use a different port in cat 1

Not sure if wsjtx has TCI support or not like mshv but that's the best option if it does.

TCI is UDP and faster

Thanks Tim,  if TCI is an option it's the one to use!

No com ports or key lines
Just enable TCI select the tci audio in and out path and prey much enjoy
