First thing to do is ascertain if the issue is with HL2 or an issue with using the software, so maybe try another software package to see if same result?

My suggestion for a quick and easy to try software is SparkSDR:

If you do see a signal with Spark and still not with SDR Console, then please post on the SDRC support Group and include a full screenshot with "Home" tab of SDR Console selected. There is a screenshot tool inside SDRC that you should use, and we SDRC users can help further. Do not crop or edit the screenshot. Or if you first want to post a screenshot here of SDRC showing the problem issue that's OK too.

What antenna are you using?

In your screenshot you are tuned to 7 GHz. I don't think HL2 will receive much up there unless you are using a transverter of some sort (which I can see you are not).

Also in your screenshot you have the LNA set to minimum (-12db). For HF work I suggest setting it to 0dB to maybe +10dB. On minimum you will just raise the noise floor from AGC action.

Anyway, try the correct tuned frequency and see what happens. Maybe take another screenshot with antenna attached and radio tuned to 7.100 MHz which is usually very active at all times of day

Hi Alan and Group,

This is a reminder to follow the repair and return policy as described here:

This link is also on the HL2 sales page. Do not contact Makerfabs for repair or return until you receive approval to do so on this list.

Several people have offered good suggestions and asked questions which remain unanswered:

1. What SMA connector do you have an antenna hooked up to?
2. Why does your screenshot show 7GHz? Please provide a screenshot with antenna attached and radio tuned to 7.100MHz.
3. Have you adjusted your LNA from the minimum of -12dB?
4. Have you tried SparkSDR?

73,

Steve
