I have piHPSDR 2.3 DL1YCF Version installed.
Receiption is ok, but by pressing Mox or Spacebar to transmit, HL2 switches to TX and and the software closes.Any idea?

A file called log will be found in your working directory.  That is a good place to start.  I always take a close look at the I/O line initialization near startup. If one of the I/O lines assigned, if any, is not right, then anything, or nothing, may happen 😊

thats in the logfile when aborted:

pihpsdr:.../.../.../.../src/cairo_arc.c:189:_cairo_arc_in_direction:Zusicherung
 abgle_max >=angle_min nicht erfüllt

This means in English (for the others)
Assertion: angle_max < angle_min not given

I shall check this, this must have to do something
with the "analog meters".

To verify this, proceed as follows:

- start pihpsdr and exit it without going transmit

then in the props file (MAC-ADDRESS.props), you should find a file

analog_meter=1

change this to

analog_meter=0

and report whether the problem remains.

I shall make a test independent of that, but now I have to leave.

Unless M_PI is not defined as 3.1415... in your math.h,
I cannot see why this happens.

But I will make a test tomorrow (but I used the Hl2 much and
it did not occur for me even with analog meters).

Hi Christoph,

thats the thing.I changed back to Meter digital and now tx is working.
Switching back to analog, shutdown occured. I have to use digital meter til this error is fixed.
Tnx for helpful advice.

Still, there must be a problem somewhere, since the analog meter
is supposed to work.

The error message indicates that there might by a "stepping over the fence"
problem that corrupts local data, but I went through meter.c and did
not find where it might occur. The problem must be in meter.c since
this is the only place where analog vs. digital meter matters.

Just to be sure, can you send me (direct to dl1...@darc.de) a
screen-shot from the "About" menu, since this tells me exactly
which version you are using. I cannot reproduce the problem on my Pi4
with a HL2, as you can see from the screen shot:

I can't reproduce this issue either. Last pull from git was this morning.  MOX button works with both meters. Spacebar essentially works except I get RF in my keyboard that causes the HL2 relay to chatter but I'm sure it would work with ferrite on keyboard cable.  I use wired PTT switch.

I did a new install raspi ios and piHPSDR Ver 2.2 and now i can switch to analog meter without any problems.
Nevertheless i will fetch some sdcards tomorrow and put a backup from the old sdcard with Ver 2.3 installed and do some tests.

My tip on this is: use bluethooth keyboard, this is nearly RFI immune.

I wonder if PIHPSDR is being installed with binary or compiled from source.  If binary might there be some possible incompatible issue between libs on installed system and libs on system the binary was compiled on?

I *strongly* recommend compiling from the sources. I worked so hard on the manual
appendices and the semi-automatic installation procedure that I really cannot
see why compiling from sources should be more difficult than binary installation.

And shared library compatibility issues are only one part.

However on further review SWR is not reading correct.  It shows 1.0:1 everywhere.  As much as I'd love that I know it's not true.

version. No idea which library is needed.

Yes, I got that error last time I tried to compile on my laptop. Haven't looked into it as yet. I don't get this error compiling on my desktop.   One difference may be the version of wdsp library.  I believe I switched the wdsp to this version on my desktop a while back but perhaps not on the laptop.  https://github.com/vu3rdd/wdsp.git

Yes, it was the wdsp version.  Reinstall wdsp from this source https://github.com/dl1ycf/wdsp.git or the one mentioned in the previous email.  The one mentioned previously has a couple extra noise reduction modes, however they don't seem to work as well as the NR2 mode from what I've tried.

Background info:
This has nothing to do with the „extended noise reduction“.

It is the new „voice squelch“ introduced in WDSP version 1.21,
so that there are now three squelch processors, one for AM,
one for FM, and one for SSB.

In John’s repo WDSP is still version 1.18, and the AM squelch is
used for SSB as well.

Sorry everyone, I was wrong about SWR not working. It just now requires higher output level. At least 300mW out or tune drive level set at about 10. I tune at 100mW so it was just to low to kick in with the new code.

DL1YCF

I can change this. I increased the threshold for SWR calculation
to 0.25 Watt. The reason is, that readings of forward/backward
power become inaccurate at very low levels, and this then might
lead to a very inaccurate SWR value leading to TX shut-down when
„SWR protection“ is enabled. This led me to suppress SWR calculation
if forward power is below 0.25 Watt.

Well the answer to this and many of life's other problems is to turn the amp up to 10 (11 for you Spinal Tap aficionados). Not a problem.

Perhaps this.....  ?

Christoph was kind enough to reply to this privately but of course the answer is that pihpsdr runs more than HL2 radios and this suggestion would  adversely effect the setting for all the other radios. Something I completely failed to consider.
