Can't start HL2 Thetis. WIN 11 Pro

Got a new Ryzen powered NUC. Installed Richie's latest Thetis. Fired it up & ran the FFT backward & forward stuff. Then, downloaded & unzipped  MI0Bot's matching Bets version. When I try to start it, Windows wants me to go to the APP store & that does not work. Checked Compatibility mode  &only option in WIN8. Tried running as Administrator. 

I'm at a loss.

I also did all updates.

And, I did extract the patch, add shortcut. Niether folder or shortcut .EXE will fire up.

Hi Ed,

Can you give us the exact versions you think you have, of both Richie's and mine. Windows taking you to the app store would suggest that it does know what to do with the file you are trying to run.

I have seen something light this with one release where the person was trying to run a exe configuration file.

OK, checked & also deleted the HL2 version, re extracted. Still doesn't work. 

Richie's is 2.3.4 X64

Reis's version 2_10_3_4-HL2Beta

I might try .2.2 if I can't get it working.

OK, they should work fine. Can you post a screen shot of the files in the extracted directory?

OK, this is an issue with the new computer. Tried .2.2 Richie's  Reid's too. No luck.

You mentioned new PC is it possible in S mode of Windows the secure mode which won't allow outside apps to function?

Also have you checked firewall and antivirus apps and made exceptions or rules to allow.

So, after 6+ itertions of downloading, erasing, deleting, extracting && the such, I had an idea.

On my laptop, where everything just always worked, I have 7-zip. 

I downloaded it to the new computer & everything just worked. 

Only strange thing is that Reid's patch had me do the wisdom table, even though Richie's already had me do it.

So, I guess there is a setting in the Windows extractor/firewall or the such that 7-zip bypasses.

The HL2 version uses a different database inside it's own directory and that is were the wisdom table is stored. When the HL2 Thetis doesn't find it, it creates a new one. In theory, you could copy the wisdom table from the normal Thetis directory.

Is there any chance for a merge of your xxx-HL with the main development branch?  I'm new and don't know the history here.  Thanks for Thetis, it opened my eyes to the capability of the hardware.

I have talked to the main development team for Thetis and I think it will happen sometime in the future. I know that Richie does keep an eye on my Github and has responded in the issues section. The danger is breaking something in the main development which will peeve the whole Anna community.
