Interface to Hardrock 50

Hi guys, I have been using the hl2 for a short time mainly on FT8, I now have a Hardrock 50 amp connected and it was performing okay using it manually. I now have a serial cable connected using a homebrew breakout board and the hr50 follows the bands selected with the hl2...but the ADC 75 indication is on constantly. I am using Quisk, is there a setting to correct this situation.

Hi,

Is this during receive or transmit? If during receive, it indicates that there is some noise being introduced. Does it go away if your lower the LNA gain? If during transmit, then you may want to lower the LNA gain during TX. There is a setting in Quisk Config "LNA during TX db." That can be set down to -12. Try various level during TX. Ideally you don't want ADC clipping but still want to be able to monitor your TX signal when full duplex is enabled.

One thing to watch out for: some of the "unused" pins on the HR-50 are driven. I was surprised to see 5V on pin 1 of the DB9. If you accidentally drive one of them (which I did) it creates all sorts of problems.

My HL2 is coming soon! Pretty excited about this as I had been looking for an "couch" operated radio for some time.

I'm not clear on exactly what this board will do. I'm considering adding an external PA to my HL2. Will this enable switching of the PA's LPF?
