Heads up that you will notice a small difference starting today:
The lab computers are now fully Commodore 64 compatible.
This change affects all raspberry pi's and computers at CAD, 3D Printing, Vintage computer table, the Laser station, and our servers.
All programs must now fit into the 38911 bytes of working ram, and BASIC is the language of choice should you need to do anything custom. The old member database has been moved to this system, and you should notice a slight performance boost. Due to the shortage of 1541 drives thanks to Adrian's Digital Basement and/or 8 Bit Guy 5 1/4" floppy storage will have to be added at a later date. You will have to enter all programs manually until then.
3D printing and Laser systems as a result have been backed down to 300BPS communication speeds via Serial to USB conversion equipment. Please understand that these slowdowns are only temporary while we wait for our supply of Z80's and ram to come in so we can enable full Commodore 128 mode. Unfortunately the full shipment of all our components was delayed to the container ship getting stuck in a canal so I've been told.
One more important thing!
There are official Commodore Licensing hardware license module dongles in each computer and system, please do not remove these from the lab!
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
