Hey Lab,
I'm proposing that we store the flat woodworking fixtures, jigs, sleds, guides along the hallway wall between the fire extinguisher and the eye protection.

Primarily this would be the spoil board for the Maslow CNC, but also some skirt pieces for that, a circular saw guide, planer sled. Possibly some other woodworking fixtures and jigs as long as they don't stick out beyond distance the fire extinguisher does.

It's just an idea until there's a date and time included.

Attached is a mockup of how I could see things being laid out on the wall. It's 17 feet 8 inches, but since we can't store 8' things horizontally things get lenghty. We did have, maybe still do have a sled for the planer.

We maybe should address ahead of time that woodworking projects and subsequent materials don't belong left in the lab. I think that is outside the scope of the wall itself other than that no material storage should be allowed there.

It would be good to have a table saw sled, but I think it would be awkward stored in the hallway since it wouldn't lay very flat like all of the proposed items.

Anyone please share your input on this idea. Looking forward to being able to work on larger projects.

Sometimes cool things just happen, but usually you have to plan them.

I'm not sure this requires a proposal, because it's wall space and not floor space.

As long as we have a minimum of three feet I think it may be fine. This would be a hot button for the fire marshal as this is a fire escape route. It doesn’t take much to restrict the path.

Concerns I have:
1. Space is space, whether it is wall or floor.  Someone could have a 2 foot deep box on the wall and claim it doesn't take up "space" but good luck not running into it.
2. As Darrell mentioned, this could turn into a safety hazard since that hallway is already narrow.  Your drawing shows a one dimensional layout, but how far out will these additional items stick out?
3. What will be done to mitigate the sawdust and other things that will accumulate in the hallway?  We already have a problem with people not cleaning up messes that they make, so how do we expect this to be any different?
