Thanks Mike, I signed immediately even though I’ve found petitions useless. I had to change your name on the link (Michael M.) to my own email and name.

 

I’ve worked in Vanuatu with villages that lost their coral reefs in 1943 when tens of thousands of American troops arrived with no warning, threw them out, dredged their reef up to make an airport, bombed the hell out of the Solomon Islands, and then all left immediately after. The reef never recovered.

 

I was there training villagers to regenerate coral reefs and fisheries (see attachment). Unfortunately, despite demands from a dozen villages for follow through projects, we could never find funding to continue.
