Advice Needed: Transitioning into Robotics & Structuring My Career Path

I recently completed my B.Tech in India and am eager to transition into the field of robotics.
My current plan is to spend time learning the fundamentals through hands-on experiments, secure a role in the industry to gain real-time experience, and eventually pursue a post-graduate degree in robotics.
I would love your advice on a few things:
Learning Resources: What documentation, frameworks, or tools should I focus on first to build a strong foundation?
Landing a Job: How can I leverage practical projects to land my first role/internship in robotics?
Career Roadmap: Does gaining industry experience before doing a Master's make sense in this industry, or is there a better sequence?
Any guidance, recommended roadmaps, or suggestions would mean a lot!

Have you built any robots? What kind of robots are we talking about - robot arms or mobile robots?
I ended my career as a robot technician at Neato Robotics. Before that, I worked in computer and electronic sales, PC support, and network administration (degree in marketing).
Whenever I interviewed for technical positions, I almost always talked about, and sometimes even brought, my homebrewed robot. It was a great way to demonstrate what I could do.

To answer your question "built any robots":-
I haven’t built a physical robot yet, but I am particularly interested in [mobile robots / robot arms / ROS simulation] and am eager to start building hands-on projects from scratch.
To be honest, as a fresh graduate trying to break into this field, I feel quite overwhelmed and anxious about where to direct my focus so I don't waste time on the wrong track.
Since you have such rich practical experience in the industry, would you be open to a short 15–20 minute call sometime? If your schedule allows, even a periodic check-in (such as on [e.g., Saturdays or Wednesdays]) to ask questions and get guidance would mean the world to me as I start out.
