I'd been looking for something to replace a few neato XV-11/botvacs with. May try and use/help with this.

One interesting aspect of this project is that the "3D-printable, documented, hackable chassis" can be scaled by 1.5 to 2.0 times to provide a larger, more stable base for home robots (such as MockBots).

This allows users to strip away unnecessary features down to the bare bones and wheels. The standard Roomba or Neato form factor is simply not ideal for moving around with a table or tray attached to the top.

Best Regards,

OOMWOO

Yes, this is very interesting. I saw "Makers Pet" and thought... that sounds familiar. Then I went to their homepage: https://makerspet.com/

Oh yeah! Those guys. I've seen them around for a bit.  ;-]

Yeah, I've bought and made some of the makerspet projects. Really like the quality, thought, and approach.

Good blog too with detailed how-to's, eg omniwheels:

I used/modded Nathan's STS3215 mount with TPU rollers for my LeKiwi (thanks Nathan, BTW!)

But, I was really wondering how flexible/versatile a base this might be or could become. What scales with size as Sergei suggests (or would need to) and what wouldn't or couldn't. Maybe it's time for a fully open source (hardware and software) TurtleBot 5 ;-)
