Stack 2 release plans

I've published a blog post with plans for changes to Stackage and the release of Stack 2. There are some big changes in Stack 2, so I'd strongly encourage users to do some testing before release to see if any workflows have been significantly impacted.

I heard the file format of custom snapshot is going to change since Stack 2.
Is the new format documented somewhere?
How can we migrate?

There are some changes, but most everything is backwards compatible. For example, the snapshot files we use for building Stack itself are compatible with both Stack 1.9 and master. The thing that's changing completely is the Stackage snapshot files, which will match the custom snapshot files.
