Dear Abhijit, Clair and all Resident at Hartland Square
Earlier this month I notice water dripping from the ceiling onto
the stairway railing in my unit. I reported it to Clair and she
dispatch a contractor to inspect and determine the cause. The contractor
determined there is a leak in the roof and we are in the process of resolving
this. But what is very alarming is that the contractor observed and
reported that the DRYER VENT was DISCONNECTED and lint was being
deposited in the attic insulation.
We have used the same contractor, CLEAR TUBES MR
HARRISON, to clean and certify the dryer vent every year since the BOARD
have negotiate a discounted rate and have vouch his credentials. The last time
he did our dryer vent was October last year. I find it extremely difficult to
understand how the vent could become disconnected between then and
now. Especially as no one else have had access to our
attic.
A high level of trust and professionalism is required in situation like
this. The contractor is expected to clean and verify the safety of the vent and
we on the hand trust him with our safety. Have anyone ever back check his work.
The big question is this an unfortunate accident or is it a reflection of the
quality of his work? I would like to get some feed back from other
community members regarding their experience with this contractor.
